2nd Trimester Must Haves

February 3, 2017

As I enter my second trimester i’m starting to get more uncomfortable and my regular clothes are starting to be a bit tighter. Here are some of my must haves!

1) The BeMaternity® by Ingrid & Isabel® – BeBand

I purchased two -1 white, 1 black. I can still fit in some of my regular jeans with the help of the “hair tie hack” (google it!) and a BeBand. These have helped me hold out a little longer before investing in expensive maternity jeans. Also, after my first miscarriage, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes before we were farther along. This helped me stay comfortable during first trimester bloat!

2) Bra Extender

None of my bra’s fit! I need to get some in a larger size (cup and band). Until then, these are holding me over.

3) Essential Oils

I am completely HOOKED on essential oils. The brand I use is Doterra. For nausea (and my headaches) I use peppermint oil constantly, on my temples, & back of neck for headache pain or tension and will put a drop on my tongue for nausea.

At night, when I feel the most uncomfortable, i’ve found diffusing my oils really helps my calm down and feel better. I’ve been diffusing Lavender, the Balance blend, and Juniper Berry together.

4) Melatonin

My neurologist recommended 5mg a night of Melatonin to help with my migraines, but it also comes in handy as I was starting to get restless an have trouble falling asleep at night!

Of course, check with your doctor before taking any medication.

5) Gum

This really helps me when I’m feeling nauseous. I chew it constantly. I like peppermint flavor.

6) Belly Butter

I’ve seen a few minor stretch marks start to pop up on my hips! Trying to get ahead of it with daily applications of Belly Butter.

7) Heartbeat Monitor

After suffering a miscarriage, every cramp or pain in this pregnancy instantly puts me in a panic. Having a heartbeat monitor has really given me peace of mind. This is the one I purchased and was able to hear our baby’s heartbeat by week 12.
